NASCAR Races Sprint Cup Recap

© Ford RacingThere were a couple of early wrecks in both major NASCAR races this month that took out serious players at the Daytona 500 two weeks ago and again at the Sprint Cup race yesterday.
Carl Edwards had one of the stronger cars in Phoenix yesterday, but he got caught up in an early crash that also took a couple other serious competitors. Once they got past the early wrecks, the racing really heated up with a record number of lead changes, both from cycling through cautions and dramatic passing on the track. In the end, Jeff Gordon won it all in his 19th season as a NASCAR Sprint Cup driver. He is now a four-time champion in the sport, with a total of 83 races won. Yet he still maintains more enthusiasm for the sport then ever before, and this victory must have been especially meaningful as it snapped a 66-race winless streak for Gordon.
